Core Resilience: Dancing into Strength

The Embodied Practice Lab invites you to explore the transformative potential of dance and movement in a holistic workshop that integrates sensory, practical, and theoretical elements, fostering open dialogue about movement patterns and their impact on our lives.

Join us for a weekend dedicated to discovering the essence of self through the core of the body. Inspired by the words of Peggy Hackney, who beautifully articulates the concept of core support as "uniting all deep aspects of self," we will embark on a movement journey of self-discovery and empowerment.

Through improvisation, creative-compositional exercises, and dance patterns, we will explore the structure, anatomy, and biomechanics of the body core and spine and curiously question movement methods andapproaches such as the Axis Syllabus.

Integrating new insights into our body knowledge and movement repertoire supports our journey to move more joyfully, effectively and authentically. Just as Hackney describes, we will learn to trust that our organism will follow its intent into function without shutting down other parts of the system. This process taps into our inherent strength and resilience, guiding us toward greater self-expression and freedom in our dance.

This workshop is open to individuals of all backgrounds and levels of experience. Come as you are and explore the limitless potential of your moving body.
